A Bit More About Us

Being an Anglican Church we stand in the the Protestant and reformed tradition, as expressed in the Prayer Book, Ordinal and 39 Articles. The Bible is central to our services, where it is read each week, and the good news from God that it contains is shared and savoured.

That good news is about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus was not only a real person in history, not only a good and wise teacher, an uncompromising prophet and a compassionate healer: in Jesus, God walked with us, and having taken our humanity to his divinity, died for us, and rose to new life in order to reconcile us to himself. We respond to this initiative of God’s love by turning to God and putting our trust in him. In this way we come to the happy realisation that we belong to God and that he is with us and for us.

We come together each week because we have found in Jesus a rock upon which to build our lives. We welcome anyone who is looking for something and is open to finding it in Jesus. You don’t have to know what church is about to come, you don’t need to take part in things more than you are comfortable with, you don’t need to dress any particular way or bring anything. We aim to be friendly and to be a place where all kinds of people can belong together, because God is bringing us together in Christ.
